Teachable Moments

Core of behavior change is in 4 parts:

1. Teach:  Focus on what you WANT, not what you don’t want.

2. Practice:  in many different ways, in many different situations.

3. Reinforce:  Praise, excitement, preferred activities, privileges, rewards.

4. Expect:  Raise the bar.  If expect fails, go back to practice not to teach.

A fun helpful link to keep you singing in the rain (or snow or car or shower:))

Whoever would have thought that all those fun clapping songs and  games would actually help with all sorts of learning issues!!  Think about all the help you could get from older kids helping younger kids and helping themselves at the same time(but don’t tell them!!)

MY FIRST BLOG!

This is my first blog for my business, IMagine IMprovement!  My goal is to share helpful hints and tips about managing learning disabilities in children and adults.  I want to have fun with this blog and be helpful at the same time.  I thought it would be fun to share my own experiences as well as yours.  To get started, I’d love to hear from you via email with any insight, suggestions, and personal stories to share on the blog.  Let’s pool our resources and help each other out!  I look forward to sharing more.

Check in soon for the first of many “Helpful Hint of the Week!” and let me know what you think.

Hope this IMproves your day!
